[Jul. 22nd, 2007|03:48 pm] |
Hey kiddies.
Just a quick Bethy update.
Been living with Will for almost a month now. We move into a one-bedroom hopefully by October. Still getting used to the whole "co-habitation" thing.
Still working at Starbucks, though thinking of switching home stores.
May have a chance for a better second job at Noah's Bagels.
Start cosmetology school on Monday for an 8 day course.
Auditioned for but did not get cast as Columbia in The Rocky Horror Show at Garbeau's Dinner Theatre.
Birthday is in 9 days. Want season 1 & 2 of The Munsters and The Oblongs complete series DVD.
That's it for now. |

Had a great date on Tuesday, had a long talk last night.
We're taking the weekend to think about things (Will - what he wants out of us, Me - if I'm willing to give him the time he needs.)
We'll see how it goes.
Oh, and SORDID LIVES opened last weekend and it's going great. |

| | crushed | ] | Single again.
Turned out as great, awesome, sweet, calming, and how much "with it" I am, I'm not good enough for Will.
I have never been more hurt or angry in my life.
There's this poem by Poe, it goes;
"I heed not that my earthly lot, Hath little of Earth in it. And that years of love have been forgot In the hatred of a minute."
I have never felt that more true then right now.
He says that he really likes me, but he can't be romantic with me and he should have just stayed single rather then ask me (and he started all this) to be his girlfriend.
He shouldn't have pursued me.
I was so happy, and it just wasn't true. |

He. Is. Awesome.
He, in turn, thinks I am awesome.
We met a few weeks ago and had an amazing weekend together. We watched cartoons, took walks, talked, and went to the drive-in.
He's a keeper, Brianne already gave her thumbs up.
Very happy Bethy right now. |

I've come to the conclusion after spending three weeks hurt & pissed off at guys that he (and his character Elwood Blues) embodies all that is my ideal man. |

| | blah | ] | Started SORDID LIVES rehearsals last night. Going to be a very fun show.
Was asked to be in a film for THE 48 HOUR FILM FESTIVAL. Film this weekend.
Had one of the best nights ever at the Hyatt Oscar Party. Was just suppose to be a volunteer pre-show, but ended up getting to be a guest at the OutWord Magazine (one of the big sponsors) table (for reals, it was like $150 a head for this thing and my friend Eric and I got the whole thing for FREE. A fancy dinner, lots of wine, got to watch the Oscars in a fancy ballroom full of drag queens, and swag galore all from our A-Gay Sugar Daddies.) It was fancy as hell.
Jobs are okay.
Apartment is okay. Have decided to stay here for another year.
Right now, Charlie is being a douche-bag. Like, a major jerk-face of a douche-bag. Better shape up or ship out.
Yep. |

| | Def Leppard. | ] | Carhops in Bondage
Think Rocky Horror Picture Show meets Happy Days, and you'll have a pretty good idea of what Carhops in Bondage is all about: a lot of giggles, a bunch of guffaws and a handful of belly laughs, served with absurdist humor of the sophomoric sexual variety. It's fun, it's light and it's not for the uptight.
The plot, which barely matters, has the Queen of Outer Space, her performing androids and a baby-blue Wookie wannabe in search of the perfect fuel, which they find at Earth's S&M Burger Palace, where the roller-skater carhops offer complications galore. Wackiness ensues, wrapped in delightful parodies of classic '50s doo-wop hits.
High points include Cynetra Verona's turn as an intergalactic Eartha Kitt, purring "Where Is My Martian?", practically any time the divine Raylynn Sanders (the Queen of Outer Space) is onstage. She was surely a drag queen in a previous life. Low points were few--a handful of missed cues and a tendency on the part of hyperactive Cimarron Speel (as poodle-ish Binky) to rush through lines so the jokes get lost in the laughter. Both undoubtedly will be corrected as the show gains its feet after a rocky start. (The opening was delayed twice, and several roles were re-cast.)
The sets, elaborate and charming, require some down time to change. Kudos to the Players for a creative solution: the giddy Wanda (Bethany Hidden) provides a bit of down-home stand-up entertainment. She's not afraid to ask the audience for input, so bring your best slightly off-color jokes to share. - Kel Munger, Sacramento News & Review

| One more thing... |
[Jan. 4th, 2007|12:47 am] |
In 2007, beth_a_rama resolves to... Backup my makeup regularly. Go to television every Sunday. Overcome my secret fear of starbucks. Find a better film. Eat more los angeles. Find a new macgyver.
Now, I personally do not make New Years resolutions (that way I'm never, ever disappointed with myself) but if I did, these would for sure be them. |

| | The Kinks | ] | I was asked to join the musical CARHOPS IN BONDAGE with The Lambda Players today as a replacement for an actress who they fired.
I start rehearsals tomorrow.
The show opens next Friday. I am super-duper nervous/excited.
I have alot to learn and not a whole lot of time. This is the first "for reals" theatre production I've done in a while (acting wise.)
Don't really know what the show's about. I do know it's a musical with 50's style songs and that I am one of the carhops. I guess I'll learn more tomorrow.
Other than that my New Years Eve/Day was one for the books. Good, good times in many ways.
Things with Charlie are okay. He sent me a sob story of a heart string tugging text message about how "he wants to be with me but it's hard between two jobs and school" blah blah blah, and "whatever time he has he'll give to me" and so on. Was unexpected since I had sent him one just saying that I would see him next year (as a cute New Years joke-thing.) At least he's trying, right?
Not really going to fret on it now, we'll see how this thing goes. Taking it slow. Will be together sometime this weekend if rehearsals allow.
That's it for now. |

| | Cary Elwes's sexy british voice on the TV. | ] | So I hope you all had a great one.
I pretty much did.
Since my grandma & papa (bio-dad's folks) were out of town I spent x-mas eve hanging out with my little brother (who I sweet talked into letting me pluck his eyebrows) watching movies and AdultSwim at my sister's place.
Spent x-mas morning/day with Tyler, Brianne, and her boyfriend Michael. It was very low key and entertaining. Many a good laugh was had. Later went and had dinner at my folk's place. That too was very nice.
Favorite Gifts include:
My own DVD copy of ROBIN HOOD: MEN IN TIGHTS from my parents (one of my all time fav. movies - I didn't even know it was out on DVD.)
A framed mini-poster from THE PRINCESS BRIDE from Brianne (it was a Cary Elwes christmas for Bethy.)
A CD copy of "T. Rex - Electric Warrior" from myself for being such a good (well, as good as I could have been) girl this year.
But the best came from Michael. He made me (and I stress *made*) my very own BOOMSTICK! A plastic replica of the sawed-off shotgun Bruce Campbell's character Ash uses in the EVIL DEAD series. It is freaking awesome. Now the two of us have a mission to find a chainsaw to join the shotgun.
Only bad thing about this x-mas for me is boy trouble.
Maybe I'm just being a silly chump.
Maybe Miles was right when he said I shouldn't be allowed to pick out fellas by myself anymore 'cause I don't do a very good job at it.
Sometimes I feel this whole thing is just a waste of makeup. |
